A Family Business.
Henry Camosse & Son was founded in 1948, marking the beginning of a legacy built on dedication, hard work, and community values. The business was established at the very location we are proud to still call home today, serving as a steadfast presence in the community for over seven decades. What started as a humble venture with a $20,000 loan has grown into a thriving company, thanks to the vision and perseverance of its founders. This foundation of commitment and resilience continues to inspire everything we do as we honor our roots while striving toward a promising future.

Our History

By 1935, the operation evolved into Camosse Brothers, reflecting a growing family presence in the trade and a deeper commitment to masonry manufacturing and supply. These early decades laid the groundwork—building technical knowledge, customer relationships, and a reputation for reliability that would define the company for generations
The Founding of Henry Camosse & Son (1948)Following World War II, Henry Camosse took the next decisive step in the family’s story. In 1948, after leaving Camosse Brothers, he founded Henry Camosse & Son, securing financing from friends and family and establishing the business at the same Worcester location it occupies today.
Initially focused on concrete block manufacturing and masonry materials, the company quickly became known throughout Worcester County for its honesty, service, and consistency. Under Henry’s leadership, Henry Camosse & Son supplied materials for countless residential, commercial, and civic projects during the post-war building boom.

Second Generation Leadership and Expansion (1960s–1980s)
In 1964, leadership passed to Henry J. Camosse, who brought a new level of technical expertise to the company as a civil engineering graduate and U.S. Army veteran. Under his guidance, the business expanded significantly, becoming one of the largest masonry yards in Massachusetts.
This era was marked by modernization, growth, and deeper involvement in industry and community organizations—reinforcing the Camosse name as one built on both professional excellence and civic responsibility.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Henry Camosse’s four sons became part of the business, each taking on a critical role. Henry handled office operations, David managed trucking, Charlie oversaw block manufacturing, and Craig maintained the yard—ensuring inventory, order, and daily efficiency.

Camosse Masonry Supply and a New Direction (1990s)
In 1990, the third generation took a major step forward when Henry J. Camosse Jr. and his brothers founded Camosse Masonry Supply, expanding the business beyond manufacturing into a full-service masonry and hardscape supply yard.
This shift introduced landscape products, natural stone, pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor living materials—positioning the company to serve not only contractors, but also homeowners and designers.

In 2004, the company expanded again with the opening of a second location in Charlton, Massachusetts, broadening its reach and inventory to better serve customers throughout New England.

Fourth Generation: Henry III and Christopher (2000–Present)
The fourth generation officially entered the business at the start of the new millennium.
In 2000, Henry Camosse III joined the company full-time at the age of 18, after spending years working summers in the yard—helping customers, loading materials, and learning the business from the ground up. His brother, Christopher Camosse, followed in 2004, bringing the same hands-on approach and commitment to daily operations.
Today, Henry III and Christopher jointly manage the day-to-day operations of Camosse Masonry Supply. Working side by side, they oversee purchasing, logistics, yard operations, customer relationships, and strategic direction—continuing the family tradition of being present, accessible, and directly involved in the business.

A Legacy That Continues
From its beginnings as Shrewsbury Block Co. in 1913 to a fourth-generation, family-run masonry and hardscape supplier today, Camosse has remained grounded in the same principles: quality materials, honest service, and long-term relationships.
More than a century later, the Camosse name continues to stand for craftsmanship, heritage, and a commitment to helping builders—professional and homeowner alike—create work that lasts.
